What is AdBlue and why protect?

This plate (PROACE-R1605A-ADBLUE) — for 2016-2018 Euro 6.1:

• Year of construction 2016 through 2018
• Compatible with both ProAce and ProAce Verso
• For Euro 6.1 diesel versions with AdBlue
• AdBlue tank is located in the early position/version

Other plate (PROACE-R1805A-ADBLUE-E6.2) — for 2018+ Euro 6.2:

• Year of construction from 2018
• ProAce commercial vehicle only — NOT for ProAce Verso
• For Euro 6.2 diesel versions with AdBlue
• The AdBlue tank is located in the revised position/version.

The two plates are not interchangeable — using the wrong version leads to fit problems.

How do you know which version your ProAce has?

The transition from Euro 6.1 to Euro 6.2 took place during 2018. Key features for identification:

Euro 6.1 (this plate applies):

• Year of construction 2016 to sometime in 2018
• Mention "Euro 6" of Euro 6b of Euro 6c on registration certificate (without “.2”)
• First-generation AdBlue version

Euro 6.2 (other plate applies):

• Year of construction 2018 and later
• Mention "Euro 6.2" of “Euro 6d-TEMP” of Euro 6d on vehicle registration certificate
• Second-generation AdBlue version with revised SCR system

Vehicle-specific for the ProAce / ProAce Verso 2016-2018

This base plate is specifically designed for the first phase of the second generation Toyota PROACE — introduced in 2016 on the Stellantis EMP2 platform with the Euro 6.1 emission standard. Unlike the Euro 6.2 version, this plate is compatible with both versions:

• Toyota ProAce 2016-2018 (company car)
• Toyota ProAce Verso 2016-2018 (passenger car with windows, 8-9 seats)

Both share the same AdBlue tank position and mounting in these model years. From 2018 (Euro 6.2), the two versions were split, and a separate plate is required for each version.

Installation

The position of the AdBlue tank — directly under the chassis with various pipes and sensors that must be kept carefully clear — requires careful alignment. Correct alignment is essential to prevent interference with AdBlue lines, vents, level sensors, and tank mounting straps. The manufacturer specifies a guideline time of 15-30 minutes. • Weight specification Steeler: Steeler lists “17,3 kg” for this aluminium version, which is technically unlikely (aluminum is naturally lighter than steel — the steel version weighs 11,4 kg).
