Important information from Ford Motor Company

• To maintain the structural integrity of the cargo bed, Ford the installation of reinforcement brackets (J-brace) when installing accessories on the loading bed rail.
• In practice, this means that accessories (eg hardtops) that protrude above the side wall of the load floor and weigh more than 45 kg require the installation of a reinforcing J-bracket. The part in question is shown in blue in the photo.
• Ford sells these brackets as aftermarket service parts, available under the following codes:
