Important information from Volkswagen Company cars
• To the structural integrto maintain the quality of the cargo bed, advises Volkswagen the installation of reinforcement brackets (J-brackets) when mounting accessories on the loading bed rail.
• In practice, this means that with accessories (e.g. hardtops) that protrude above the side wall of the cargo bed and weigh more than 45 kg, the installation of a reinforcement bracket (J-bracket) is required. The relevant part is shown in blue in the image.
• Failure to install the brackets may void the manufacturer's warranty.
• Contact your Volkswagen-dealer for more information.
