Important information from Ford / Volkswagen Company cars
• To maintain the structural integrity of the truck bed, Ford / Volkswagen the installation of reinforcement brackets (J-brace) when installing accessories on the truck bed rail.
• In practice, this means that accessories (eg hardtops) that protrude above the side wall of the load floor and weigh more than 45 kg require the installation of a reinforcing J-bracket. The part in question is shown in blue in the photo.
• Failure to install the brackets may void the manufacturer's warranty.
